Florio's Pizza Inc is a longstanding pizza spot nestled in a busy San Antonio neighborhood along Broadway. It’s the kind of place that clearly knows its audience—folks looking for classic New York–style pizza by the slice or whole pies, served up in a no-frills, slightly old-school environment. The restaurant’s atmosphere has an antique charm, with a straightforward, slightly nostalgic interior that doesn’t aim to impress with flashy decor but rather focuses on solid, familiar comfort food.

This pizza joint is a solid pick for grabbing quick, satisfying slices, especially if you’re in the mood for a crispy crust that walks the line between crunchy and doughy. Their lunch specials, like two slices plus a soda for an affordable price, make it a reliable spot for a casual weekday bite or a laid-back Saturday afternoon. The menu highlights pepperoni-heavy options, classic cheese slices, and some Italian staples like calzones and subs, including their well-regarded Cold Italian Hero and hard salami sandwich. There’s even a vegan pizza option, which shows a nod to diverse tastes without straying far from their traditional roots.

Visitors who come for the pizza appreciate the fresh ingredients, though some have noted that toppings like mushrooms may feel a bit canned, reflecting a focus on simplicity over gourmet finishes. Service tends to be efficient, though not overly warm or polished—staff interactions are straightforward and can feel a bit brusque, particularly when busy, which lends to the place’s unpretentious vibe.

If you’re looking for a spot that channels a familiar, East Coast pizza experience in the heart of San Antonio—where eating is about the food and the no-nonsense vibe—Florio’s fits right in. It’s ideal for locals or visitors craving a quick slice, hearty sub, or a casual meal that pairs well with a cold Mexican Coke or traditional iced tea. Weekday lunches and calm weekend afternoons are probably the best times to enjoy a less crowded atmosphere. Overall, Florio's stands out for those who value solid pizza basics and a taste of old-school local character without the typical fanfare.

First time here. The old grumpy guy taking the order was mean n so not helpful. Other staff serving were nice. Came here based on the reviews. They serve whole pizzas and also by slices. The crust is phenomenal. We didn’t get extra cheese but i wish i did. I think that would have made this the best pie. They don’t have chicken as a topping which was odd but all in all it was good pizza

Absolutely one of the best pizza places I’ve ever been to, all the ingredients were fresh, the service was fast, and had to be one of the most antique restaurants I’ve ever visited. My boss Jim Gilreath brought us and we had an absolutely great time! Food: 10/10 The food was SPECTACULAR! It was fresh out of the oven, not greasy, and the right amount of crunch and doughiness! It felt like I was eating at a 5 star pizza place, super hot and amazing! Their subs are also the best in town, I personally recommend the “Cold Cold” absolutely one of the best subs you can buy! Service: 10/10 The service was also super great, super fast and I can tell they take great pride in their work. Truly one of the reasons why they withstood the test of time! Atmosphere: 10/10 The atmosphere was very antique and very old school pizza parlor-like! They also honor their troops and those who fight for our freedom so I have a deep respect for that. I love atmosphere of this place and definitely recommend a visit! They also deliver on DoorDash which is a HUGE plus! Just in case you can’t make it in person, you can definitely order online!

First time trying their food. Ordered a pizza and sub, i wanted pizza but was curious about the sub off the reviews and it was all so good i over ate. Haha. But i feel like that tells you something. If you've never been here definitely give it a shot.

The pizza is good but I prefer fresh ingredients such as mushrooms and black olives. The mushrooms looked like they were from a jar. The pizza was crispy which was the best part. Chill place to eat and it wasn't too crowded for a Saturday afternoon. However, the cashier did not have a smile so the vibe was kind of awkward. Overall it was mid with a great price point but the customer service was not there. On the to the next pizza spot.

Still one of the best pizzas in town. Very New York. It will remind you of those long skinny Pizza houses in New York that sold the oversized slices. Great lunch special two pieces of pizza and a soda for like 5 or 6 bucks. A small salad is a perfect side- always fresh mmmm. Make sure to try the hard salami sandwich it's one of their specialties don't share it. No really.

Love this place! 2 different people recommended this place on the same week so I had to try it. There's a big parking lot with handicap parking, and sidewalk ramps. Easy access to the entrance. First time I went I had the lunch special and it was great. I like that Florio's sells individual pizza slices, they are pre-cooked, but nevertheless fresh. I was readily greeted by the owner and the main pizza maker. They both made recommendations and gave me the rundown of the place (business hours and how to order). I enjoyed having lunch here so much, that I came back the next evening and tried the Hero sandwich, which I thought was exellent. Great place and reasonable prices, keep up the great work!

I only have positive things to say. Went for a slice of pizza. It was fresh out of the oven, quick, cheap, and really good. Definitely give this place a try. We ate inside and were probably only in there for 20 minutes but every time someone walked in to pick up their pizza everyone working seemed to know who they were. Its clear they have a lot of returning customers and those working make a point to know their clients. I think that speaks volumes of how they conduct their business. In this time I even got to hear the manager (I assume) praising his employees.
